Women Living In Victory

Our Women’s Ministries have been organized to minister to the needs of the women in the church.  We aim to bring women to spiritual maturity, to develop leadership in women, to maintain support groups, and to equip women for service.

Women’s Ministries include the following groups that offer opportunities to women for development, service and support:

ADOPT-A-GRANDPARENT

This is a support group of women who voluntarily select to develop a “child-to-grandparent” relationship to brighten the life of an older person.  A younger woman selects a senior woman from the church membership to adopt as her grandparent. She seeks to show her love, encouragement and service through visits in the home, taking her out to a meal occasionally or any other gesture.

FIRST LADY ARMOR BEARERS 

A service ministry designed to aid or assists the first lady. They are women with a servant heart and a serving spirit.  Members anticipate her needs and serve when, where, and if needed.

 ADVISORY BOARD

This Board consists  of key persons who have experience working in ministry and have insight that will enhance the work of the department. They are faithful supporters of our church, seasoned women.

BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE

These are women with an eye for beauty that expresses their artistic talents to provide floral arrangements or designs for the church sanctuary.  This includes floral arrangements for regular services, holidays, and special days.

BENEVOLENCE COMMITTEE

This group assists the First Lady in showing love and respect to members in the church that become ill or suffer the loss of a loved one.  They send a greeting card signed by the First Lady to those listed on the sick list and to other persons whose names are submitted.

BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL

This ministry serveS to encourage business and professional growth to the church as a whole and give awareness of businesses that exist among the Saints. This will include sponsoring workshops,  seminars, and training  classes.

FELLOWSHIP ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE

These Women plan and coordinate special events for the Women of Cathedral of Faith that provide fellowship, support, enhancement and spiritual uplift.  One of the popular special events is the “Night Out With The First Lady”.

GREETERS

Persons in this group have a love for people and have selected to serve God by showing hospitality to them by greeting them as they enter the doors of the church.  They greet members and visitors.  They distribute visitor’s cards and any printed material regarding the church.  They express pleasure of their having come to our church and offer their assistance and help in any way.

HOSPITALITY

An Auxiliary of the church designed to show kindness to the Pastor, his guests, strangers, and visitors.  This group is comprised of men and women who are lovers of people, given to hospitality, enjoy making others happy through the giving of gifts, preparing dinners, entertaining guests at nice places, etc.  They serve juice or other beverages to the Pastor, First Lady, and Pulpit associates during weekly services,  They also serve during revivals and other special services.  On Sundays, a welcome address is given by a committee member to visitors during service.  Members of the group serve on a rotation basis as established by the president of the group.

INTOUCH PRISON CORRESPONDENCE

This is an outreach of love and compassion.  This group sends letters, cards, and other correspondence on behalf of the Pastor, First Lady and the Church family to the relatives of members in the church who are incarcerated, away at college, military deployment, or extended job travel.

MINISTERS AND DEACONS WIVES

These are the wives of the Elders, Ministers and Deacons of the local church body. They meet on a consistent basis for support, teaching and training.  They are helpers, counselors and examples for the women in the church.  They have the responsibility of helping at funerals, to be of personal aid to the family.  Through their kindness, they can help to lead souls to Christ. They assist candidates at baptismal services and may also be used to help with preparation of communion by preparing tables, bread an have towels and necessary equipment on hand.

MOTHER’S BOARD

This group is comprised of seasoned and well informed women of our local church body. They are recommended and appointed by the Pastor.  They are examples to younger women in the church, possessing the wisdom to advise, counsel and teach them things women should know. They help to build the kingdom of God.

NURSES UNIT

These women are skilled in nursing. The president of this unit is a trained nurse:  RN, or LPN, licensed to give medicine. They are available to serve at church meetings, worship services, on trips, funerals or whenever there is a need for their service.  The president assigns nurses to serve on a rotation basis.

NURSING HOME VISITATION

Members of this group visit those who are ill in nursing homes on a consistent basis. They provide care and show concern by sending cards, making telephone calls, and conducts spiritual service periodically.  They represent the Pastor, First Lady and the Church family.

YOUNG WOMEN CHRISTIAN COUNCIL

The Young Women Christian Council also known as the YWCC is a group of women ages 19 and over.  The prime purpose is to gather young women and channel their minds into productive motives of Christian endeavor.  This is the training station of women of every facet of women’s work.  Here they are trained to be homemakers, lovers of their husbands, Ministers Wives, Bishop’s Wives, Auxiliary Leaders, Prayer Warriors and Lovers of God.  This Auxiliary is expected to train in all areas of leadership & organizational structure.

WIDOWS SUPPORT GROUP

This group’s mission is to provide a forum for widows young and old to connect. Through these connections, they can find understanding and validation of their feelings so that they are able to recover their joy for life, reclaim their identities, and rebuild their futures.
